How to Build a Believable Human Character - Hands, Feet and Final

Step 7
Each one of the fingers was extruded out and shaped as best as possible. Once again the fingers are kept very simple for now, with more detail to be added later. The fingers are modeled partly spread apart, this will make skinning the hand for animation deformation later on much easier.
Step 8
Once the hand has been tweaked a bit, I attached the head in order to get a total overall view of the model. Applying a meshsmooth produces a nice rounded mesh, however this should only be used as a guide at this stage since much of the true detail and shape of the mesh has yet to be modeled. Even so, spend some time taking a good look at the full model and make any adjustments required to achieve a better shape. However at this stage still avoid adding any more edges, if nothing else it is a good exercise in creating well defined models with as few polygons as possible and in the end, the less polygons that the software has to deal with the better.
